The Genbukan Daigo Dojo holds classes for students 14 years of age and older.

Students enrolled in Calgary Dojo Group Classes can train indoors on Mondays, Wednesdays, and some Fridays from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Class times at the Victoria Dojo run Mondays and Wednesdays indoors from 7 pm to 9 pm and Fridays outdoors (weather permitting) from 7 pm to 9 pm or alternate time as set by the Head Instructor.

Choosing the way you want to learn at the school comes down to personality type, schedule, and commitment level.

  • Private one on one classes are the most beneficial, as you get the experience of the head instructor guiding you throughout an entire training session and often training with you one on one. This is recommended for students with difficult schedules or that do not like group classes. There is a premium on the cost but a huge benefit also.

  • A student who wants to fast track their learning and get solid basic self defence can enter the Jujutsu program and learn only the Jujutsu syllabus. The training still takes place in the regular classes but the focus is on Jujutsu only. There is no difference in the cost to general class training.

  • A student who wants the full experience, can commit the time, and wants to be extremely well rounded as a martial artists can enrol in both the Ninpo and Jujutsu syllabus. Students attend general classes and focus on both sets of syllabus as they work and learn. This is the traditional approach to training that most students take.

What is Ninpo Taijutsu and Jujutsu? The Arts of the Ninja and Samurai. Effective, battlefield, true self defence and physical training for yourself, your loved ones, or your country.

What it is not: It is NOT empty katas, social clubs, tournaments, and buying belts (ranks).

Class time is also spent on traditional Japanese weaponry such as sword and staff, strengthening the body, increasing flexibility, balance, leadership and confidence, fitness, meditation, and Chugoku Kempo.

Classes run year round and students can begin at any time throughout the year.

Classes are offered in 6 month and 3 month terms only. There are no Drop - ins.

A Free Trial Class is offered to potential new students. Please use the contact form located on this website to indicate your interest in training at the school. You cannot be accepted into the school unless you attend the trial class so we can meet you and make sure the fit is right. If you know someone at the school and they personally vouch for you, you can begin immediately.
